While everyone loves a overseas holiday, especially for your honeymoon, there is something to be said for having your special time away our fair state of WA. It can be cheaper than going overseas (or at least you can spend more money on accommodation and food and less money on airfares) but also not having to worry about changing currency, spending precious hours in planes and airports and worrying about dodgy food and water can make a holiday in WA a lot more relaxing. And after a busy and often stressful period organising your beautiful wedding, a relaxing break together is probably just what you need. Here are a few of my favourite WA picks.

Stay close to home at The Richardson Hotel and Spa in Perth. The Richardson is a true 5 star experience in our home city, so you can spend extra quality time with your love without even a drive Down South!

Stonebarn is a beautiful 'boutique' accommodation near Pemberton. We spent the first three nights of our honeymoon here and loved it. The architecture and furnishings are stunning, food is very tasty and the setting is romantic and peaceful.

Eco Beach Resort near Broome is another beautiful spot that I have been lucky enough to stay at, and I know of people who have even had their wedding at the beautiful location. They have eco tent style accommodation, beautiful pool and a stunning beach. Their restaurant is pretty good too. Catch their catamaran (pictured above) from Broome to the resort for an extra special experience.
If you are rolling in cash and you have already holidayed in Paris and Aspen, how about a cruise on the True North? I can't boast having being on this one but it looks absolutely amazing... with a price tag to match of course :)

While we are spending up big in the Kimberly, why not visit the famous El Questro station near Kununurra in our state's far north? The Homestead has six luxurious suites, but I bet even the camping, which comes with a much more reasonable price tag, would be beautiful.
